The world of writing is a muddled world at best. Perhaps muddled isn’t even the best description. The best description eludes every writer. The best illustration or illumination is always past the next corner. The most absorbing portrayals are always just out of reach or the victim of aphasia.

Jimmy was still unsure of the tooth fairy. What benefit would a fairy get from the teeth of children? At least Jimmy would be getting something in trade for his first lost tooth. Well before bed, he had already began the litany of possibilities with his newfound bounty. Would the fairy leave a full dollar? What if he left five?

It took a bit of getting used to, but my costume is by far the coolest superhero costume around. It takes a seriously confident man to parade around in public in something as tight and form fitting as the modern superhero costume. There are a few who go with something less obvious and clingy, but who are they kidding?

I always hang at the same bar. For years now, I have been an installation in the same town, the same bar, many nights the same seat. Talking with the same people lamenting the same stories. Many of them multiple times.

On my last trip to New York, I took a subway uptown to the MOMA. While waiting on the subway platform I read a small local newspaper someone had left behind. It had a small advertisement for New York’s greatest tourist destination.
